Acceptable Use Policy

Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of UCTS services. By using our Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. Permitted Use

You may use UCTS to:

  • Transform AI conversation exports into code projects
  • Generate project scaffolding and boilerplate
  • Create CI/CD configurations and infrastructure code
  • Manage and organize development projects
  • Integrate with your development workflow
  • Use the API for legitimate automation purposes

2. Prohibited Activities

You must NOT use UCTS to:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Generate code for illegal purposes
  • Process stolen or illegally obtained content
  • Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
  • Create or distribute malware, ransomware, or other harmful software

2.2 Harmful Content

  • Generate content that promotes violence or hatred
  • Create content exploiting or harming minors
  • Produce defamatory, libelous, or harassing content
  • Generate content that violates others' privacy rights

2.3 Intellectual Property Violations

  • Infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or patents
  • Process or reproduce proprietary content without authorization
  • Bypass digital rights management or copy protection
  • Violate software licensing terms

2.4 Security Violations

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Probe, scan, or test system vulnerabilities without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or connected networks
  • Distribute viruses, trojans, or other malicious code
  • Engage in phishing or social engineering attacks

2.5 Abuse of Service

  • Circumvent usage limits or access controls
  • Create multiple accounts to avoid restrictions
  • Share account credentials with unauthorized users
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Use automated tools to abuse the Service (except authorized API use)
  • Interfere with other users' access to the Service

2.6 Deceptive Practices

  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Engage in deceptive business practices

3. Resource Usage

Fair use of system resources ensures availability for all users:

  • Respect rate limits and quotas for your subscription tier
  • Do not attempt to overload systems with excessive requests
  • Optimize API usage to minimize unnecessary calls
  • Report any bugs that may cause resource issues

4. Content Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • The content you input into the Service
  • Ensuring you have rights to process any content
  • The code and outputs generated from your inputs
  • Compliance with applicable licenses and regulations
  • Reviewing generated code before use in production

5. API Usage Guidelines

When using the UCTS API:

  • Use API keys responsibly and keep them secure
  • Implement proper error handling and backoff strategies
  • Cache responses where appropriate to reduce load
  • Include identifying information in User-Agent headers
  • Do not share API keys or use others' keys

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to:

Include as much detail as possible, including evidence of the violation.

7. Enforcement

7.1 Investigation

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations. During investigation, we may:

  • Review account activity and usage patterns
  • Temporarily suspend access pending investigation
  • Request additional information from you

7.2 Consequences

Violations may result in:

  • Warning notice
  • Temporary suspension of access
  • Permanent termination of account
  • Legal action where appropriate
  • Reporting to law enforcement authorities

7.3 Appeals

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting appeals@ucts.dev within 30 days of the action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting an updated policy and changing the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
